Crossface: 8 Other WWE Legends Who Deserve A Movie Biopic

1. Vince McMahon

This one seems like a matter of time. The story of Mr Wrestling himself, WWE chairman, Vincent Kennedy McMahon seems destined for the screen. Born in Pinehurst, North Carolina to Irish Catholic parents, Vince€™s childhood was far from ideal, with his father walking out on him and his mother while he was very young and leaving them at the mercy of a violent stepfather. In an interview with Playboy he claimed that his mother's partner Leo Lupton would beat his mother and would give Vince the same treatment should he try to protect her. He told the magazine: "It is unfortunate that he died before I could kill him. I would have enjoyed that.€ His mind was on business from an early age, however, and he expressed an interest in getting into the family business €“ his real father was working as a promoter for Capitol Wrestling Corporation. He initially wanted to train as a wrestler, but his father forbid him, insisting that promoters never entered the ring to wrestle, advice he disregarded on many occasions in later life. After getting a bad reputation among other promoters for taking his show on the road (something that was considered an invasion of turf at the time) he wound up at Maddison Square Garden for the first ever WrestleMania, an undeniable success that catapulted his WWE to the top of the game and turned Hulk Hogan into a pop-culture sensation. 30 years later and McMahon is a billionaire. He has a $12 million penthouse in New York, a $40 million mansion in Greenwich and a 47-foot sports yacht called Sexy Bitch. Yup, it€™s safe to say he€™s made it, though there were plenty of bumps along the way for film makers to get their teeth stuck in to, from rape allegations to the steroids scandal. Phil still hasn't got round to writing a profile yet, as he has an unhealthy amount of box sets on the go.
