Several people behind the scenes in WWE, including the man himself, thought Trish Stratus had potential to become "the female Rock".

Trish told Ryan Satin on 'Out Of Character' that she naturally turned a lot of heads when she first debuted for the company back in 2000. Folks backstage were impressed by how quickly she was taking to the biz, but few were more impressed than Dwayne Johnson.

According to Stratus, The Rock pulled her aside and said she had the chance to become a female equivalent of him. Dwayne could see how much star power Trish had, and he thought company bigwigs should bend over backwards to help develop it.

Replying, Stratus said: "Yes, I want to do that".

It'd take a few years before she was ready in-ring, but Trish did take significant strides as an onscreen character during her first year in the then-WWF. She went from managing Test and Albert to being in one of WrestleMania X-Seven's hottest storylines alongside the McMahon family.

The Rock thought she could catch fire as a heel like he did, and then use that as a springboard to even greater things. He was right.
