Daniel Bryan is one of the best wrestlers ever.

Given everything he's accomplished at the Showcase of the Immortals, and that's a huge amount, the anticipation to see him in the title picture for this year's WrestleMania is pretty great.

There really is never a dull moment as far as the Yes! Movement is concerned. So what better time than now, than to look back on his consistently enjoyable tenure at the Show of Shows?

And that, folks, is where the consistency ends. At WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan has competed for various titles at various spots on the match card. He has made drastic character changes by simply altering his facial grooming or redesigning a championship belt out of organic materials. He's been subject to blink-and-you'll-miss-it upsets, and also main event pushes of cosmic magnitude.

No two Daniel Bryan WrestleMania matches have been alike, and that's a good thing, But the vibrancy and desire has never been absent from whatever Bryan has put his personality to. The fans were never truly let down. There have only been varying degrees of magnificence.

From Bryan, at least.

Well, it was entertaining at least...

Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania debut in 2012 started with a bang and ended with a fizzle, but it was all part of the plan. After narcissistically leaning over the ropes to kiss his on-screen girlfriend, AJ Lee, Bryan spun, took a Brogue Kick to the chops, suffered a three-count, and lost his World Heavyweight Championship. The match lasted 18 seconds.

WrestleMania wouldn't be WrestleMania without the occasional bit of madness, and opening the show in this fashion proved to be an effective way of working the crowd. The surprise outcome actually worked for Bryan's obnoxious heel character, given how big a jerk he was coming across on television.

But the fact that a kick and a bump were the only two things you can attribute to wrestling in this contest, means that this can't be categorised with any level of seriousness. The accolades Bryan would receive later down the line renders this nothing more than a blip. Amusing, but a blip nonetheless.
