A lot of pro wrestling enthusiasts look at the main event of WrestleMania XII with scathing eyes, and many even feel the main event was over-rated as a spectacle. In truth, the 60-minute 'Iron Man Match' between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart could have done with being peppered by just a few more slices of drama and tension, maybe even a few falls or decisions to break up the action.

The WWF Heavyweight Title epic may not be to everyone's tastes, but Daniel Bryan was captivated. It's interesting that a lot of people who are or go on to become professional wrestlers absolutely adore the bout, citing it as the kind of match they aspire to, whilst a lot of industry critics and those who have never worked a match decry it as a hyped-up example of forgoing entertainment in favour of the ego of the wrestlers themselves.

For Bryan, WrestleMania XII was one of the first wrestling Pay-Per-Views that he ever plunked down cash for, and it's probably partly for that reason that he holds it up on a pedestal as something special. Of course, Bryan would go on to be trained by Michaels just a few years later, which is an incredible journey in itself.
