WWE Superstars are paired with managers and valets for any number of reasons. Sometimes, it's because a guy is deficient on the mic and needs a mouthpiece. Sometimes it's for the sake of the manager himself, who is building a faction and needs more talents to make it work. In the case of Daniel Bryan, the reason was to get him over and it worked like a charm. The pairing of he and AJ Lee may not have been that all that logical at first but it made complete sense once fans saw them together on the air. The dynamic between the two was perfect, as AJ was still the sweet and innocent girl being manipulated by the controlling Bryan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsrQ_iZWnDM Having AJ at his side elevated Daniel in the eyes of the fans. He became something more than just a guy trying to get a foothold in the company; he achieved a depth of character previously unknown to the crowd. He became interesting and entertaining, he was the neurotic and cocky heel that was using a girl to protect himself in matches. The fans began to care; they wanted to see Bryan and more importantly, they wanted to see him get what he deserved for mistreating AJ. None of that would have been possible at the time without her help and truth be told, Daniel helped her as well. At the end of the day, it worked out very well for both sides.
