Dean Ambrose Gives His Own "Hard Times" Promo Following Money In The Bank

Ambrose addressed the crowd in what seemed like an homage to the late Dusty Rhodes.

Seth Rollins retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Sunday's Money In The Bank show by just a hair. In the main event of the evening, Rollins and Dean Ambrose both fell from the ladder to the met holding the championship belt, but Rollins was able to tug the belt away from Ambrose when they hit the mat to retain his championship. The PPV show closed with Rollins and Triple H on the entrance ramp looking back at Ambrose in the ring. WWE announcer Jo-Jo came out to interview the champion, and Rollins went on a rant about how he is the greatest WWE World Heavyweight Champion in history. Ambrose looked at him from the ring with a look of disbelief as the show faded out right at 11:00 p.m. EST. For those who attended the show live in Columbus, Ohio, the show didn't end there. Dean Ambrose got on the microphone and cut his own promo, and the segment seemed to be an homage to the late Dusty Rhodes. The most famous promo that Rhodes ever gave is known as the "hard times promo," and it took place on an episode of Mid-Atlanta Wrestling in October 1985. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9py4aMK3aIU Ambrose's segment following Money In The Bank is incredibly similar to the legendary Rhodes promo above. He talks about life not always being fair, earning what you get, losing out on technicalities, and coming to grips with that. Was Ambrose paying tribute to one of his idols? You be the judge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXzia1fuiuQ
