Dean Ambrose’s TLC Matches: Ranked From Worst To Best

5. 2013 – CM Punk Vs. The Shield

Now largely remembered as being CM Punk's penultimate pay-per-view match, the 3-on-1 handicap bout from 2013’s December supershow wasn’t terrible, it was just distinctly average, especially considering the amount of talent involved. It was also hurt by some inexplicable booking that saw Punk overcome the odds, despite The Shield being the most dominant team in the company, and Reigns being primed to become the next big thing.

Ambrose took the fall, following a mis-timed spear from 'The Big Dog', but he didn’t come off looking the worst. Surprisingly it was Seth Rollins who seemed to phone in his performance; something unthinkable now with his consistent show-stealing matches every week on Raw.

As we will probably never see CM Punk Vs. any of these guys ever again, the match at least acts a nice footnote in WWE history, at a time just before the company finally embraced change.
