Details On Major WWE Backstage Meeting Before Raw
WWE held a couple of major talent meetings prior to last night's first Raw of the Endeavor era.
Last night's episode of WWE Raw was preceded by a couple of major backstage meetings following Endeavor's takeover of the market-leading wrestling promotion.
Endeavor's WWE buyout was announced on Monday, with the group set to effectively merge WWE and its mixed martial arts property, the UFC, into a still-to-be-named NewCo. This followed months of speculation on WWE's sale, stemming from Vince McMahon's return as Executive Chairman to facilitate such a move in January.
Fightful Select reports that during an employee meeting on Monday, WWE stated Endeavor will not be involved in the creative or production processes. This follows Endeavor chief Ari Emanuel confirming similar during a live CNBC interview yesterday.
WWE executives Nick Khan, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, and Frank Riddick led the meeting. Khan is to become WWE President following the NewCo's formation, with Levesque retained as Chief Content Officer.
On top of this meeting, WWE planned on holding another for talent two hours prior to Raw starting, with several SmackDown talents and Raw wrestlers who weren't booked for the show not attending. Fightful note that many of these people were on a ten-day travel stretch.
During the talent meeting, WWE touted WrestleMania 39's business success, stressing that things were not going to change under Endeavor. Khan and Triple H led this session - and did not take questions.
