Does WWE Edit Footage To Stop Wrestlers Getting Over?

Sunday evening brought an interesting Twitter exchange between Dolph Ziggler and the recently-released Karl Anderson, whom WWE let go as part of their mass releases on Black Wednesday (15 April).

Ziggler had disingenuously asked fans where he could find a clip of him and Sonya Deville talking backstage on last week's SmackDown, noting WWE had uploaded a similar Mandy Rose/Otis bit, but "conveniently" ignored theirs. This led to Anderson posting the following:-

This likely comes from a place of genuine frustration, as Anderson's WWE career was never allowed to take off in similar fashion to his NJPW run, with the promotion rarely expressing an interest in showcasing him and Luke Gallows' fun personalities. They were solid in their role as AJ Styles' goons and had a run with the Raw Tag Team Championships, but that's scant reward for a four-year run.

It remains to be seen where Gallows and Anderson will land after departing WWE, though Karl has teased a New Japan return. This may need to wait, however, as the 'King of Sports' is one of the few major promotions to come to a complete halt during the ongoing global health crisis.
