Dream Casting The Rock's Ric Flair Movie

10. Jim Crockett

Ric Flair Matthew McConaughey
Netflix/NWA

After no doubt glossing over the early Japan days, we'll probably see the movie follow Flair's involvement in NWA before the national expansion and how he took on the Nature Boy persona.

It would also be good to see the plane crash that saw Flair break his back in three places and be told he'd never wrestle again. The idea of this story being all about overcoming and rising back to the top is a great one, after all.

Obviously this time in Flair's life wouldn't have been possible without the involvement of the Crockett family and in particular Jim Crockett Jr, who would be one of his best men. Crockett was also so instrumental in his NWA reigns (and his status as that company's flagship franchise) that not having him involved here would be unthinkable.

And as for someone to play him? Fellow North Carolina native Michael C Hall might be a good candidate. He can probably pull off the drawl and the rather clipped personality. He managed it with JFK on The Crown after all.
