Having been laid out on a car by Damian Priest on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre has since taken to X to note how the car windshield was "real glass" - a nod to CM Punk and Jack Perry's infamous AEW issues - and that this glass got in his eye.

As a follow-up on this, PWInsider reports that while McIntyre wasn't hurt in this segment, the Scot did indeed have "something" in his eye. The three-time WWE World Champion received treatment to have that "something" removed, with the outlet noting how, from speaking to WWE sources, the item removed was not glass.

Big Drew was checked out by WWE medical before he left London's O2 Arena - the venue for last week's SmackDown - and the 39-year-old was seen wearing an eye patch backstage after this angle, including in a WWE promotional video for the company's Glasgow Rangers edition of the WWE Championship.

While Drew was not at any WWE live events over the weekend, the Scottish Warrior was never scheduled to be at any of those shows, so it's not a case of WWE pulling him from the road for any reason.

Drew McIntyre's Road To WrestleMania

As we gear up for WrestleMania 41 in a few weeks, Drew McIntyre finds himself on a collision course with Damian Priest.

While McIntyre has talked about being pissed off at not being in the title picture at this year's Showcase of the Immortals, the rivalry between he and Priest has nicely started to boil up in recent weeks. Not just did Priest eliminate Drew from both this year's men's Royal Rumble and this year's men's Elimination Chamber, but the history between the two nicely ties back to last year's WrestleMania and beyond.

Of course, WrestleMania 40 saw the Punisher - with a little help from one CM Punk - cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase to take the WWE World Heavyweight Title from Drew McIntyre. Making this even worse for McIntyre, the Scot had only won that title himself a matter of minutes earlier, putting away a banged-up Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

In the aftermath of WrestleMania 40, Damian Priest would retain the World Heavyweight Title against Drew at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland, before then likewise retaining that prize against both McIntyre and Rollins at Money in the Bank in July. While McIntyre spent the second half of 2024 battling CM Punk in the Feud of the Year, he's now found himself circling back to Priest as the two await their expected match at WrestleMania 41 to be made official.
