"I'd Be Lying If I Said I Wasn't P***ed Off" - Drew McIntyre On WrestleMania 41 Booking (WWE News)
Drew McIntyre on facing Damian Priest at WWE WrestleMania 41, fan frustrations, and more.

Drew McIntyre has acknowledged WWE fans' criticism of his WrestleMania 41 program with Damian Priest, admitting to being "p***ed off" at missing out on a major title match at the show - owing to his sense of competitiveness.
Speaking with the UK's Daily Star publication, McIntyre was asked about facing Priest On the 19 and 20 April WWE premium live event. The Scot immediately went to his apparent competitive frustration at missing out on a bigger match.
"I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t p***ed off at not being in one of the title matches after the 2024 I had," said McIntyre, "but it’s just because I’m so highly competitive and sometimes, you know, there’s only a few spots."
WrestleMania 41's top men's title programs will see John Cena challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes while World Heavyweight Champion Gunther defends against Royal Rumble 2025 winner Jey Uso. McIntyre briefly became World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 40, dethroning Seth Rollins, only for Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and win the title minutes later.
On the audience's reaction to this year's match, McIntyre said that while he appreciates it, he wants the audience to give it a chance.
"I appreciated when the fans' reaction was, 'oh my goodness, it’s Priest and Drew, there’s nothing there.' I’m like bloody hell, give us a chance to tell the story," said Drew. "The thing with Priest has been going on since last year’s WrestleMania when he cashed in on me after I was assaulted by CM Punk."
The rest of McIntyre's comments on Priest were in kayfabe, with Drew calling the former Judgment Day member a "big emo vulture" who "doesn't know how to succeed unless it is at my expense."
McIntyre's apparent dissatisfaction with his WrestleMania 41 booking was first reported in early February. After Royal Rumble 2025, the Daily Mail reported that facing Priest at 'Mania was seen as a "nothing match", adding that after "the most successful year of his career in 2024", McIntyre believed himself worthy of a more prominent feud.
WWE is yet to make the match official, but all kayfabe signs point towards Priest vs. McIntyre happening in Las Vegas.
