Welcome to the Jungle, or The Rundown as it was called in the US, was the first movie to really exploit Johnson's star potential. After the disappointing The Scorpion King and the never-quite-hits-the-spot Walking Tall, the then ex wrestler was in dire need of a film that could show he had the talent to be a movie star. What we got with Welcome to the Jungle was a great action piece with comic elements that resembles Arnold Schwarzenegger's best work in the 80's. The Rock and Seann William Scott have the perfect comic chemistry and Peter Berg's assured direction complements the impressive action sequences. And though it is almost ten years old, it still represents some of Dwayne Johnson's finest work.
