ECW's The New Breed: Where Are They Now?
3. Kevin Thorn
In The New Breed
While the rest of The New Breed meshed together fairly well as a group of plucky, disrespectful upstarts, Kevin Thorn stuck out like a sore thumb. His gimmick was simple: he was a vampire, and while there was nothing particularly terrible about Thorn, just one of a long list of mid-to-late 2000s big men who never made it to the top, he was arguably one of the main reasons why The New Breed never truly gained momentum.
He was one wacky gimmick too many in a stable that didn’t need another; by adding a vampire to the teacher/boxer/footballer combo, The New Breed could easily have been The Village People 2.0.
After The New Breed
Thorn was the first member to leave the stable, exiting in early May of 2007 after his teammates didn’t interfere in his match against CM Punk. Following his departure, he appeared in several exhibition matches, then feuded with Stevie Richards before he was sent back to developmental.
Unfortunately, Thorn never made it back to NXT or WWE, but has become a mainstay of the European independent scene since.
