Eddie Edwards Interview: Changing IMPACT's Perception, Evolving His Character, The Wolves & More

As someone who's been there since 2014, what have been your thoughts on IMPACT's growth and how people perceive it throughout your time there?

Edwards: I've obviously been a part [of IMPACT] for a few changes, but right now, it's great to have a feeling that everybody in the locker room to the front office to production is on the same page. We all have the same goal: we want to make IMPACT Wrestling the best that we can and we're going to go out there and deliver. Whatever we have to do, we'll do to make sure IMPACT is the absolute best it can be. For a long time, there was a lot of negative connotations for IMPACT. There's always rumors. There were always rumors for however long IMPACT or TNA was failing or it's going to shut down or this or that. I've gone through quite a few of those, so to see where IMPACT is now as a destination for free agents in wrestling, and it took a while for that to happen, guys and girls can home here if they aren't happy somewhere else and you can be creative, do what you want to do and be yourself. That's what IMPACT is.

It's very much a family atmosphere. Everybody says that, but it is very much a family atmosphere where we're happy to have people jump on board. If you're willing to go out there and do whatever you need to do for this company, we welcome you. You have guys like The Good Brothers come in, you have FinJuice, you have Kenny Omega come in from AEW. The stuff we're doing is very next level. It's stuff I never thought would be happening a few years ago. I never thought guys would want to leave elsewhere to come here, but that speaks to how good IMPACT is right now as far in the back. That's not even talking about in the ring. In the ring, everybody comes out and delivers.

It's very much a family atmosphere and it's comforting to know that we're all on the same page and we all want the same thing. We know it's not going to happen overnight. I think that was a big part of this front office right now. They knew we couldn't flip the switch on IMPACT overnight. We couldn't change everybody's mind overnight. It was going to take some time. You see where we are now and you see the progress this company has made in the last couple of years, it's amazing to sit back and watch.

With Davey Richards getting back into wrestling after a few years away, is there any chance we see a Wolves reunion at some point or is that chapter of your career behind you?

Edwards: That chapter is never closed for me. It could happen. Especially in wrestling, never say never. I've texted and spoke to Davey and I'm very happy he's coming back because pro wrestling is better with him in it. He has a great work ethic with anything he does, whether it's outside of the ring or inside. I'm just looking forward to seeing what he does as he comes back and who knows what happens down the road. I'm open to anything, I'm more than open to tag with Davey again, but I'm not going to guarantee anything. Let's just sit back and see what happens.

Don't miss IMPACT Rebellion this Sunday, April 25 live on pay-per-view.
