Eddie Edwards Interview: Slammiversary, Davey Richards, Satoshi Kojima, And More
Well speaking of Davey Richards, obviously he came back recently. I think you were speaking to Fightful before Rebellion, you keep in touch with him, so I'm just going to ask; Wolves vs. Violent By Design, could we see it?
Eddie: Wrestling, as I say, anything is possible. You never say never. Me and Davey, we stay in touch. It's something that we would like to do down the road, I know, so it's definitely an option. Who, when, or where it'll happen, no idea, but it could definitely happen.
I'd love to see it personally. Just to go back to Sami Callihan, obviously there's a lot of history there. I'm not going to get into the whole baseball bat because you've spoke about that so much, but Barbed Wire Massacre. How was that?
Eddie: Painful and scarring. Weirdly, I enjoyed it. It was the culmination of this rivalry that had started from that bat incident. From that point, it's like the butterfly effect, it sent ripples in time that forced me to change my career, the way I think, the way I do things. It changed everything. Who knows what I would have done or who I would have become without that moment. It all built up to Hard To Kill, that Barbed Wire Massacre.
We both have the utmost respect for each other. Some things we don't agree on, but that's anybody. We both live and breathe IMPACT Wrestling, that's what we want to do, that's where we want to be. That's what we truly bleed for. That's what we did at Hard To Kill. It just felt like that was the only appropriate way to quote-unquote end this rivalry. For me, I know that we'll forever be bonded, we'll be forever linked in history. I'm okay with that because I'm proud of everything that's happened, and I'm proud of who I've become since then. I'm proud of where I am now.
