Elayna Black is taking the rest of the year off from wrestling.

The former Cora Jade announced her hiatus via Twitter/X this weekend, saying she'll be away for the "foreseeable future." The 24-year-old cited mental health as her reason.

"I originally had a 10 minute long video explaining where my head’s at, and maybe eventually I’ll post it but seems unnecessary for now," said Black. "I’ll keep it short but I am going to be taking a break from wrestling for the foreseeable future. It’s no longer good for my mental health and I’ll never know if that love for it I once had will return if I don’t step away."

Elayna's last match was for Portland, Oregon's Prestige Wrestling, teaming with Brooke Havok vs. The IInspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay) on 13 July.

"I’m gonna take the rest of the year to take care of me and go from there," Black continued. "I apologize to the fans and promoters who were looking forward to/booked my upcoming appearances. I hope you can understand. To my supporters, thank you."

A wrestler since 2018, Black was signed to WWE from January 2021 until May 2025, competing as Cora Jade. A former NXT Tag Team Champion, her WWE release was amongst 2025's most surprising, given her prominence on NXT, status as a perennial title contender, and involvement in crossover angles with partner promotion TNA.

The Chicagoan had returned to her pre-WWE ring name, Elayna Black, since heading back to the indies, where she fought the likes of Joey Janela, WWE ID's Zayda Steel, and Priscilla Kelly (Gigi Dolin).
