Eric Bischoff will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2021, the promotion has announced.

Best known for his work in WCW, where he was a transformative presence as both an onscreen performer and executive, Bischoff entered the wrestling business in the 1980s, getting his break in the AWA.

He was picked up by WCW in 1991, initially working as an announcer, before climbing the ladder, playing a key role in important moments like bringing Hulk Hogan in and devising the New World Order to turn the tide in the Monday Night Wars. Famously, WCW Nitro beat WWE Raw for 83 consecutive weeks with Bischoff at the helm.

Joining WWE one year after WCW's death in 2002, Bischoff was initially brought in as Raw General Manager and stuck with the company until 2007. A noteworthy spell in Impact followed, before Eric was brought back as SmackDown's Executive Director in June 2019. This lasted until he was replaced by Bruce Prichard that October.

Bischoff has also made several appearances in AEW since its launch, the most recent of which went down on 3 March 2021.

Molly Holly was confirmed as the first Class of 2021 inductee last week. The Hall of Fame ceremony goes down in the WWE ThunderDome on Tuesday 6 April, with Bischoff, Holly, and whoever joins them to feature alongside the Class of 2020, whose inductions were postponed at the onset of the global health crisis last year.
