Former WCW chief and WWE man Eric Bischoff might've opened a can of worms for himself with fans on Twitter after comments made on his '83 Weeks' podcast about AEW.

Bisch said that he thinks the promotion's storytelling could be "vastly improved". Eric wasn't suggesting that AEW don't tell stories, but he does believe they need to put more emphasis on that side of things than they currently do.

Specifically, Bischoff thinks character development is a major weakness during the group's first year. He doesn't see many unique personalities on the roster, which is a problem, and worries that "sameness" could impact AEW's ability to connect with a broader range of fans.

Some are already shouting Eric down on social media, but (as he said on the pod) he doesn't really care about that. He's trying to give constructive feedback, not tear All Elite down or make anyone feel bad about themselves.

That's fair enough - the guy has been there and done it, after all.

Eric thinks AEW would benefit from a healthier balance between strong matches and angles that help sell those matches.
