AEW WrestleDream 2025 Sting Jon Moxley
AEW

WrestleDream 2025 saw AEW in hot water again due to a controversial spot between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley in their vicious "I Quit" Match. Allin would eventually win the match with help from a returning Sting (complete with new Gandalf-esque look), but he'd have to overcome Moxley trying to literally drown him in a fish tank. The spot drew similar criticism to The Death Riders' attempts to suffocate Bryan Danielson with a plastic bag, as AEW continued to push the boundaries of acceptability on their PPVs.

Kris Statlander proved herself to be a fighting champion as she defended her AEW Women's World Champion against the division's best competition. She defeated 'Timeless' Toni Storm, with the challenger telling Statlander she'd have to kill her to get her to tap out during a gruelling head-scissor submission that seemed to last a lifetime. The champion eventually broke the hold, delivering Saturday Night Fever and pinning Storm for a convincing win.

Tag Team Champions Brodido continued their great run together with a spectacular win over Okada and Takeshita, who continued to feed their mounting feud with a series of tense moments, and The Young Bucks continued their enjoyable "broke" phase by being unable to beat Jurassic Express and missing out on $500,000 in the process.
