21. WrestleDream 2024

Bryan Danielson Jon Moxley

WrestleDream 2024 will be best known for being the last night Bryan Danielson was a full-time member of AEW's roster. The American Dragon walked into Tacoma, Washington as AEW World Champion, ready to take revenge on Jon Moxley after he and his Death Riders had tried suffocating him with a plastic bag at All Out.

It wasn't to be, as Danielson passed out to a chokehold to relinquish his title and his career. What happened next stunned everybody, as Wheeler Yuta turned heel to join The Death Riders and again put a plastic bag over Danielson's head, leading to him leaving the arena on a stretcher.

Darby Allin and Brody King added another classic to their collection of awesome encounters, Takeshita won the Intercontinental Championship in a thrilling Triple Threat against Will Ospreay and Ricochet, and Willow Nightingale showed she was ready for the big time despite coming up short against AEW Women's World Champion, Mariah May. There were some lesser matches as Jack Perry continued his lackluster TNT title reign with an unsatisfactory match with Katsuyori Shibata, and the Ring of Honor World Championship continued to take up AEW PPV space with an unnecessary match between Chris Jericho and Mark Briscoe.
