Every AEW Stable Ranked From Worst To Best

When gang warfare goes All Elite: Featuring The Pinnacle, Super Elite, The Inner Circle, and more...

The Inner Circle
AEW

There is no denying that the current AEW roster is stacked with talent. From indie newcomers to legends who have forged a career over decades, every wrestler is fighting for a spot on the cards.

AEW have cleverly remedied this in two ways.

The first solution to get the most out of the roster is the increase in weekly programming. Currently, the company has Dynamite, Dark, Dark: Elevation, and Rampage.

The second solution is to use a staple of pro wrestling; the stable. While tag teams will always be a popular and unique feature of the sport, a stable has everything a tag team has only amplified, from the in-ring multi-person athleticism to the interpersonal strife and tension.

In a creative mindset, housing a group of wrestlers under the same umbrella idea makes perfect sense. Those wrestlers who would otherwise be left around the locker room like spare parts become an integral part of something bigger, something that is relevant within the company.

Despite one of the main criticisms levied at AEW being that they have too many factions filling up their roster (so commonplace that Chris Jericho and the Young Bucks have publicly defended the booking), the exposure strategy certainly benefits talent and fans alike...

13. The Wingmen

The Inner Circle
AEW

Members: Peter Avalon, Cezar Bononi, Ryan Nemeth, JD Drake

The Wingmen are a comedy troupe. Though they are a team in its infancy, they have only managed to pick up a single win. However, as the members are in on the joke, it puts fans at ease to laugh along.

The architect behind The Wingmen was current IMPACT World Champion Christian. In an interview with Chris Jericho, Nemeth revealed that Christian pitched the idea as he thought they looked "kind of funny together."

It was up to Nemeth to take the pitch and flesh it out for his new stablemates. He explained it as "like when you go to a bar and you help a guy meet a girl. We’re just that.. just, all the time. And it’s not really ever about women."

To further prepare his teammates, Nemeth went on Amazon and bought "sexy shirts from the early 2000s. A lot of see-through things."

AEW makes every effort to give fans a bit of everything with their weekly programming. As a comedy act The Wingmen have a firm place in the overall product, even if their win-loss records severely affects their ranking.
