Fenix and Pentagon's style catches flak from traditionalists. There are valid points to be made on tag ropes, legal men, and AEW's often lax implementation of the rules, though the criticism is rarely measured and frequently misses the point. Moreover, it's incredibly tedious.

The Lucha Brothers' bouts with The Young Bucks, Private Party, and Hangman Page and Kenny Omega are amongst the most cutting-edge AEW has produced thus far. They're an elite, eyeball-popping tag team whose still doesn't resonate with everyone, but does with AEW's live audiences.

Nobody is as go-go-GO as the Lucha Brothers.

That The Elite would push themselves straight to the top at every other roster member's expense was a common pre-AEW concern, though it hasn't come to pass. Their work has been sublime, though. The Bucks have made the idea that they don't sell, tell stories, or utilise effective psychology an untenable position through mastering the mental game. Such things are now infinitely more important to their game than flips and dives. They have evolved so far beyond the indie-riffic act they were years ago to become one of the most complete tandems on the planet.
