Stone Cold Steve Austin was so over once he got there that he got a fairly sizeable pop as a heel in 1997, but the noise of 60,000+ inside San Antonio's Alamodome was beaten by the thunderous roars that greeted his successes in 1998 and 2001.

His second win secured a WrestleMania title match that simply had to go his way, and the third and final triumph cathartically celebrated his return from injury and set about curating one more mammoth showdown with The Rock.
