10. Cody

'The American Nightmare' was always going to be a divisive performer in a promotion as workrate-centric as New Japan, though he gave a good account of himself throughout his tenure, despite the obvious blips (his Wrestle Kingdom 13 bout with Juice Robinson was one of many that didn't get over).

Cody's full Bullet Club debut came when he wrestled Juice Robinson at WK11. He worked his way into IWGP Heavyweight Title contendership by July 2017, falling to Kazuchika Okada, and played a key role in the group's civil war the following year. As the wedge between Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, and the rest of the stable, he represented the group's villainous half for much of 2018, before eventually reconciling with Omega, joining the Elite, and confirming his Biz Cliz departure that October.

It's the "Bullet Club is fine... Bullet Club is mine" period that secures Cody's top 10 spot, and he came off well as a megalomaniacal saboteur. There was never any real danger of him becoming IWGP Heavyweight Champion, but he did win the United States Championship during his Bullet Club run, marking him as a moderate success story.
