8. Hangman Page

Jumping from 14th on last year's list to this lofty slot is quite the leap for Hangman Page, who marked himself as one of the world's most improved wrestlers in 2018.

He had a stellar year. Major improvements in his all-around performances saw him shoot up the Ring Of Honor ladder, and a strong G1 Climax run marked him as a potential future star in NJPW. His AEW signing means this may never come to pass, but Page worked harder than anyone else in New Japan's signature summer tournament, leaving nothing on the table in bouts with Kazuchika Okada, Michael Elgin, Minoru Suzuki, and more.

It's easy to see why Cody and The Young Bucks reportedly want to build All Elite Wrestling around Page. Though not yet the finished article, he's a superstar in the making. WWE seemingly offered him main event-level money to compete in NXT this year. Consensus is that he's going to be a major, major deal before long, and after a strong 2018 as a Bullet Club member, during which he hit several career highs, it's a shame NJPW may not be the platform on which he does.
