Every Foreign WWE Champion Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre's place on this list may very well shoot up over time, but for now, less than a month into his debut reign as Scotland and the United Kingdom's first WWE Champion, he has yet to achieve enough to warrant a higher place. Of course, that's not discrediting what he may achieve yet.
McIntyre's road to the belt was a long, and often bleak, taking over a decade to finally come to fruition after (in)famously being labelled as 'The Chosen One' by Vince McMahon himself.
His Royal Rumble win at the beginning of 2020 was widely embraced by the fans, rallying behind him in the lead up to WrestleMania 36 as they looked to get behind a genuine breakout star to finally unseat Brock Lesnar. It was almost not the case though, with reports that the Scottish Psychopath was a last minute decision.
Roman Reigns was a big favourite to win the Rumble and pursue the Universal Championship, but it was actually Aleister Black that was touted as WWE's pick up until quite late, with the Dutchman set to face Lesnar at Mania instead of the eventual outcome.
But alas, for Black anyway, it was McIntyre who got the nod, toppling Reigns and Lesnar to win the Rumble and Title respectively.
His reign has begun fairly well considering the unprecedented circumstances he's working in, defending the title against The Big Show on the Raw after 'Mania, not to mention being in action every week since he won the strap - a far cry from the absent presence of previous champion Lesnar.
