A masterpiece of title design, what might have looked a bit overbearing was actually a statement of intent: the huge ‘WORLD CHAMPION’ lettering indicated, in an on-the-nose way, that this was a proper title for a proper division that you were meant to take seriously. That aspect worked better in 2019, when AEW was intent on changing the world and opposing WWE, but still: the entire design is so big and audacious that it works.

It asks a very simple and clever question, one you can’t believe an engraver didn’t ask themselves before 2019: what if the shape of the classic IC design, and its unparalleled beauty, was blown up to resemble the scope of a World title?

Knowing this was a masterstroke, the design does everything possible not to get in its own way: the blue globe is as safe, simple and classy as it gets.
