18. Ricochet, Pete Dunne And War Raiders Vs. Undisputed Era – Takeover: War Games 2018
A year after the return of War Games, wrestling fans were hungry to see the structure put in play again. The question on everyone’s lips, however, was who was going to try and survive the match this time? Undisputed Era was no surprise, as the contest would end up becoming the stable’s signature, but the interesting combo of all of the stable’s long-time rivals in the form of War Raiders, Ricochet and Pete Dunne were a great success as babyface opposites.
With the match finally being returned to its original format, this edition improved on the original by tenfold. It was chaotic, violent and jaw-dropping in all the best ways. Undisputed Era were the perfect heels with dastardly tactics and strategies that harked back to Four Horseman times.
Ricochet did a fantastic job of throwing himself around the two rings with total disregard, as did Hanson who arguably could be considered the star of the match in the same breath as Killian Dain from the original. Furthermore, Pete Dunne proved yet again that he was going to be one of the faces of WWE one day with his brilliantly intense ring presence.
But yet, NXT continued to improve their War Games formula even more so.
