Just the second time that the Women’s Title had been given the nod to go on last at Takeover and what a worthy trio to have such an honour.

Charlotte’s 2020 return to NXT was a godsend for the twelve-time Women’s Champion, as it opened her up to fresh matchups like this one. All three women involved in this one had excellent chemistry and complimented each other nicely. Flair was every bit the arrogant champion that her father was here, letting Shirai and Ripley wear each other out for most of the match. Speaking of Shirai, she never felt out of place in a match that was built largely around the Flair and Ripley rivalry, making sure that her impressive agility took the spotlight.

Throughout the contest, you could see Flair’s hubris become her downfall, as arrogance turned to desperation. Not even the use of a kendo stick could give her the edge and there was just no stopping the ‘Genius of the Sky’ Shirai. One transcendent mid-figure eight moonsault later and Shirai was the new champ. A nice passing of the torch for the NXT Women’s division as the faces of two eras past were able to make way for the future.
