Every NXT TakeOver Main Event In History: Ranked

The first-ever women’s War Games had already happened earlier in the night, so the men had to try and outshine the historic match to prove it was worthy of the main event slot. The match itself had a touch of mystery about it as well, with Team Ciampa only going in with three men, the question on everyone’s lips being who would fill the fourth spot?

The Undisputed Era were a delight as always within the double-ringed structure, dominating Ciampa’s team with heel tactics and an abundance of weapons. As the clock ticked down to the mystery man, the atmosphere in the arena hit a fever pitch, before an explosion of support for the returning son of NXT – Kevin Owens.

With him, Owens brought carnage and along with Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic, he proved once more that War Games is a big man’s match with all three men stealing the show with their seemingly impossible feats of high-flying agility.

It was a match that had been months in the making and it delivered one hell of a contest, as well as writing the next few months of NXT’s major angles going forward. This was a win-win situation if there ever were one.
