Every NXT TakeOver Main Event In History: Ranked
10. Finn Balor Vs. Kyle O'Reilly – Takeover: 31
This match will certainly go down in WWE history as Kyle O’Rielly’s coming out party. He had been on the cusp of singles greatness for some time and this chance to go toe-to-toe with one of NXT’s biggest stars in Finn Balor was all the opportunity O'Reilly needed to break out on his own.
The two men had a banger that was almost as stiff as a chop from WALTER. Seriously, this one was hard-hitting, watching it you got the feeling that the pair were pushing the barrier as hard as they could, being as violent as possible until Vince McMahon pulled the plug. O'Reilly showed off his Brazilian Ju-Jitsu skills with kicks so stiff that Balor almost certainly would have ended up internally traumatised for weeks after. While Balor continued to shed all doubts that he had lost the star power that he had built previously in his first NXT run.
At the end of it all, both men were bloodied, they were bruised and they were the talk of the wrestling world, with the match being touted as one of the year’s best by far.
