For the first time in NXT/WWE pay-per-view history, the women went on last. The stage was set, thirty minutes on the clock, blood rivals ready to beat the hell out of each other and the whole wrestling world was watching.

The pair were determined to show the company what they had been missing out on by sleeping on the women’s division. That they did by producing thirty straight minutes of wrestling that was every bit as good, if not better than their male equivalents were producing at the time.

Bayley was the perfect face, refusing to play dirty, whereas Banks produced the best work of her career. All of the falls were booked smoothly and the drama was written to perfection with the crowd eating up everything the women did. Seriously, name a more dramatic heel moment than when Banks stole Bayley’s biggest fan Izzy’s headband and mocked her for crying.

The action was combustible right down to the final seconds with Bayley overcoming the odds and toppling her nemesis once and for all. The post-match celebration was a nice touch and rightly acknowledged the scale of history that the women had just made. In its essence, it was truly a trailblazing match for all to follow it.
