Is a dream match really a dream match if it's between two wrestlers that just happen to be from different generations and just happen to use the same finisher?

The answer's No, but WWE spent so many years struggling to build their own stars for actual ones that Goldberg has been a go-to for countless Old Vs New showdowns over the last decade that have oscillated wildly in quality and credibility.

The lost WrestleMania 36 main event (Roman famously went home amidst early pandemic fears rather than risking the health of himself and others in an empty gym), was saved for Saudi Arabia, meaning that it was far from the former WCW World Champion's worst match there, but nowhere near the Champion's best.

'Da Man' was that no longer, and it was simply too hard to buy him as a challenger to a Champion posing an increasingly insurmountable threat. Fun to look at for five seconds, but so were the obscenely expensive firework displays and at least they brought the element of surprise.
