Every Wrestler With 10 Or More Dave Meltzer 5 Star Rated Matches
7. Akira Taue - 15 Matches
In the 1990s, Dave Meltzer awarded the WWF just three 5 star matches. In that same decade, he awarded All Japan Pro Wrestling 29 5 star matches.
If you don't know your All Japan then some of these next entries might be a bit of a mystery to you, but let's begin with one of the company's most legendary talents, Akira Taue.
Taue was part of a group of four wrestlers (the other three of which will all be appearing later on in this list) who revolutionised All Japan and are responsible for most, if not all, of their perfect match scores. The "Super Generation Army", as it was known, was rocked to its core when Taue defected to join a rival group, but this split just led to even better matches as these two factions waged war throughout the 90s.
With 15 lots of 5 stars to his name, Taue is no slouch, but the vast majority of these matches came in tag or six-man tag affairs. He only managed one 5 star-er in a singles match, which is why he's significantly further down this list than his peers.
