Every Wrestler With 10 Or More Dave Meltzer 5 Star Rated Matches
6. Will Ospreay - 19 Matches
At time of writing, Will Ospreay has 19 perfect or better matches to his name and is still only 28 years old.
That means Ospreay was just 23 years of age when he had his first 5 star encounter in 2016, and he's continued to improve year-on-year - first as a Junior, then as a Heavyweight. He's got his big rivals - he's had three 5+ star-ers with Zack Sabre Jr. and four with Shingo Takagi - but he's also given younger stars their first perfect scores, including current NXT UK star A-Kid and UK indie wrestler Michael Oku.
But it's been in New Japan where Ospreay has done his best work and he has scored a majority of his stars. In the Junior division, Ospreay wowed with feats of aerial magic and put some of the best cruiserweight matches the world has ever seen. As a Heavyweight, Ospreay adapted his style perfectly, adding new offense to his arsenal to prove he can hang with the big boys.
As his 30th birthday approaches, there is zero chance of Ospreay ending his career on 19 Meltzer-approved matches. He is a once-in-a-generation talent with so much more left to give the wrestling business.
