They might, however, regret this one.

Being fair, it wasn't 100% WWE's call. Adam Copeland saw writing on the wall as Edge, and realised he needed to be wrestling more frequently as time ticks down on his epic in-ring career. That's a career he revitalised through hard work too, so watching it fritter away in 2-3 matches per year wasn't going to cut it.

Copeland backed himself, jumped over to AEW, and is currently one of Tony Khan's biggest attractions. The dude can be proud of everything he's accomplished over the years, including that blistering WWE return, but he wanted more than the odd match here or there.

The former Edge took his All Elite bow at WrestleDream in October after wrestling his final WWE match (vs. Sheamus) on the 18 August episode of SmackDown.
