Brace yourselves to see Matt Riddle pop up on lists detailing would-be WWE World Champs that got away. The talented ex-MMA badass had the skills to get there, but his life away from the ring became too regular a headache for company higher-ups, and they decided to drop him in September.

Riddle's career will definitely be considered one of those 'what might've been' scenarios.

At his best, he was riotously entertaining. Matt's tag-team with Randy Orton (RK-Bro) made magic, but he was too much of a liability away from rings for everyone to tolerate any longer. WWE won't regret this decision, that's for sure.
