EVERY Wrestling Move Banned By WWE (And Why)

4. Brainbuster

The Brainbuster was a devastating move invented by Killer Karl Kox and used throughout the wrestling world. It is a modified suplex executed to emphasize impact to the head hence the name. Notable stars that have used the Brainbuster over the years are Koko B. Ware, Jushin Thunder Liger, Eddie Guerrero, and Austin Aries. However, it eventually made it onto the WWE list of banned moves but was later removed.

Although there haven’t been high profile injuries associated with the Brainbuster, WWE has categorized it as a difficult to control move with head injury potential such as the piledriver. Like the piledriver, there is a risk for permanent head and neck injury if not executed correctly.

The Goldberg vs. The Undertaker dream match at SuperShowdown showed how a Brainbuster can go terribly wrong. During their bout, Goldberg botched a Jackhammer and instead delivered a sloppy Brainbuster that The Undertaker was lucky to walk away from.
