5. Canadian Destroyer

The Canadian Destroyer is one of the most innovative and popular finishers in pro wrestling. It was invented by Petey Williams and spread like wildfire throughout the wrestling world. Aerostar, Adam Cole, Pentagon Jr., and Rey Mysterio are among the more notable superstars to adopt the Canadian Destroyer. WWE initially banned the move but recently removed it from the list.

Because it is a variation of the piledriver, WWE initially banned the exciting finisher. It’s another risky maneuver that can have dire consequences if not performed correctly. Like other versions of the piledriver, it has the potential to inflict permanent head and neck injury.

However, according to multiple reports, it was unbanned by Vince McMahon after he watched a viral video of the Canadian Destroyer. Social media being what it is today, the temptation to bring it back was too much for Mr. McMahon. As a result, the Canadian Destroyer has become a WWE staple.
