Good lord this match was long. It went 26 minutes, but it was so slow at times that it felt like 56 minutes. This was the third match in a row that Rusev lost to John Cena on pay-per-view, and you could argue that his career has only just begun to right itself over a year later.

See, when people talk of Cena 'burying' young heels, it is these wins against Miz and Rusev that are the biggest pieces of evidence. No, there was no burial per se, but is there really any need for Cena to vanquish them three big shows in a row? Who truly benefits from that? All Cena proves is that he can beat someone he has already beaten twice, and the heels get a grand total of zip out of it.

Rusev didn't even say 'I quit' to end the match. Well, he did say 'I give up', but he did so in Bulgarian whilst cursing Cena's old mother. Lana jumped in to confirm Rusev's desire to end the match to the referee and Big Match John had another victim.

That ring rope-assisted STF looked pretty gnarly, though.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
