Stone Cold's victory at WrestleMania XV was an uplifting segment of the Austin vs. The Corporation saga, even if the match itself was a little swift. The follow-up came one month later, in the debut Backlash of 1999.

It was an improvement in every sense. With the match sprawling into an all-out street fight, Steve was blatantly in his element. At the same time, Rocky was content in doing nothing other than becoming the centre of attention. He even took to the commentary box, and tried to film his beating down of Austin which, to the crowds' delight, backfired.

It's clear that the two superstars loved working together. There was no real venom in this particular rivalry, only pure entertainment. The match was everything the fans could have hoped for and more.

It was also nestled in that bat-s**t crazy Corporate-Ministry storyline, which meant that Vince McMahon was of a relatively noble standing. His honest handover of Stone Cold's customised championship belt provided ample closure. Keep in mind that the ridiculous 'It was me Austin... It was me all along' angle had not yet reared its ugly head.
