10. The Undertaker Vs. Mark Henry – WrestleMania 22

Despite The Undertaker’s 26 bouts at WrestleMania, there has only ever been one Casket Match on the Grandest Stage of Them All. It took place back in 2006 and saw The Deadman clash with Mark Henry. Much like the Casket Matches of days gone by, the bout featured a double-wide double-deep casket for the World’s Strongest Man. However, the match itself was a completely different ball game.

Unlike earlier Casket Matches, The Undertaker did not decimate or intimidate his larger opponent. In fact, Mark Henry dominated the first three quarters of the match – which really hurt the pacing. It makes sense that WWE wanted Henry to look strong despite losing, but since this was supposed to end the feud, it was unusual that The Undertaker didn’t put up more of a fight – and the continuous beatdown wore thin very quickly. Moreover, Henry’s indifference to the match stipulation didn’t allow for any fun gimmicky moments with the casket either. So it was rather flat all-round.

However, things picked up dramatically in the final stretch with a series of memorable spots, including the return of Undertaker’s patented over-the-top-rope dive and a stunning Tombstone Piledriver on the World’s Strongest Man. This was enough to increase the drama and secure this match a place in the top ten.
