It’s difficult to determine where Kevin Nash should go on this list. Certainly, he belongs on the lower end, as during his year-long run as WWF Champion, WWE did their worst business ever, with Nash being the lowest-drawing champion to that point. However, it’s debatable how much of that was directly Diesel’s fault, as wrestling all-around was doing poor business. Plus, from a creative standpoint, the WWF in 1995 was complete dreck, pushing characters nobody wanted to see such as Mabel and Savio Vega. Looking at the roster and television, Diesel being champion was the least of their problems.

Still, facts are facts. Kevin Nash’s lack of wrestling chops and a discomfort with the white-meat babyface persona Vince saddled him with made for a poor reign as champion, featuring anti-classics against Mabel, Sid, and The British Bulldog.

Ultimately, while Diesel was booked incredibly strong as the leader of the New Generation, his title reign shows why he was unfit for such a position.
