Nowadays, people absolutely despise the concept of Brock Lesnar as a world champion. Holding the Universal Championship hostage as a part-timer, Lesnar has achieved nuclear heat status, and he hasn't even been on RAW in months.

In 2002, however, things were very different. Brock was the new hotness fresh out of OVW, and he quickly racked up dominant victories, winning the King of the Ring tournament and earning himself a shot at The Rock and his Undisputed Championship. In his first world title match, Brock Lesnar became the then-youngest world champion in company history, establishing himself as the new top dog.

With three title reigns from 2002 to 2003, Brock set himself apart from his contemporaries. Young, fresh, reckless, and powerful, he easily personified the new "Ruthless Aggression" that the company exhibited, and he became a must-see entity during a time when WWE was losing its stars of the previous era. With exciting matches against the likes of Undertaker, Big Show, and Kurt Angle, Brock was more than earning his keep as a youngster with a rocket on his back.

While his departure from the company was ignoble, his initial two years with the company were strong enough so that when he finally returned in 2012, the Beast got a hero's welcome.
