Every WWE Championship And The Match That Defined It

24. WWF Intercontinental Championship (1998-2011) - The Rock Vs Triple H (SummerSlam 1998)

Finn Balor Seth Rollins
WWE Network

Capturing the spirit of the old Intercontinental Championship belt before the new one came to define a rather tepid era for the title, the SummerSlam 1998 ladder classic between The Rock and Triple H paid homage to Shawn Michaels/Razor Ramon's own Madison Square Garden masterpiece without serving as a piece of self-burial in the process. Both were ready to ascend, even if the winner of this match - as he did for a glorious climactic finish - climbed a little slower.
