For many years considered the greatest match in the history of the company let alone just the Intercontinentnal Title, it was subjectively bettered by fellow secondary stalwarts Mr Perfect, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon, but never ever felt as important. Nothing in wrestling would have even attempted to steal the biggest show in industry history from underneath a main event that equaled the spectacle, but this match managed the feat.
