WWE tired quickly of their Light Heavyweight title after launching the league in 1997, but Taka Michinoku's original push was made substantially more credible by the presence of a prize he genuinely seemed to treasure. He was - unlike just about every other holder - an actual champion of an actual division.

It's this he should be remembered for, even if the 2000 Royal Rumble bump will always make the headlines.
