Every WWE Championship And The Superstar That Defined It
35. WWF European Championship - The British Bulldog
X-Pac, D'Lo Brown and Owen Hart tried in vain to make the European Title matter after Triple H and Shawn Michaels killed it with condescending chaos less than a year after its inception, but British Bulldog's clash with 'The King Of Harts' in March 1997 to crown the inaugural holder remains one of the finest matches in Raw history.
Unlike everything that happened in the second reign, the first one at least had a little pride attached even if it felt like a vanity project. But 1997 was the time for Davey Boy Smith to be vain - it was a belt built for him, when he was still built for greatness.
