Though he came to the Cruiserweight Classic with some level of name value (his brother, Dara, had wrestled previously for WWE and TNA), Ariya Daivari wasn't lighting the world ablaze before he landed in WWE's back pocket, to the point that his most notable piece of work in the year which preceded his tournament participation was a role as a jobber during GFW's 2015 summer tour.
What is he doing now?
Being let go from WWE in June 2021 proved to be a blessing in disguise for the slightly-renamed Ari Daivari, as he joined AEW later that year as both an enhancement wrestler and a coach. He has racked up just south of 150 matches between Tony Khan's primary outfit and the secondary Ring Of Honor, so he's clearly doing something right, even if his on-screen output is about as buzzworthy as anything he did on 205 Live.
